Queeramnesty Switzerland is a group a volunteers that work to improve human rights in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity. The group is part of Amnesty International Switzerland. If you are in contact with queer refugees or provide support for a queer person, Queeramnesty is a good contact, such as for problems with the asylum procedure, networking, or everyday discrimination or assault.
Queeramnesty educates the general public about issues faced by LGBTQI+ asylum-seekers, and networks with asylum counselling services and other organizations. On request, Queeramnesty provides assistance in dealing with the authorities. It acts as a hub for exchanging ideas for leisure activities and runs courses on LGBTQI+ and asylum in Switzerland. There is also a practical guide on how to provide support specifically for LGBTQI+ refugees.
The group campaigns for the rights of the LGBTQI+ community with letters, appeals, press work and public relations activities.
It also lobbies governments, institutions, etc.
