The Migration Infobox platform is a central repository for all the knowledge collected by various stakeholders in the asylum and migration sector over the years.

Background

After the wave of migration in 2015 and 2016, there was a huge increase in volunteer work in the asylum and migration sector. This resulted in many new associations and independent groups being set up.

It should not be underestimated just how emotionally stressful working with refugees can be and Swiss Red Cross volunteers have shown an increased need for information and support. The platform was created to meet this need among volunteers and their coordinators.

  • Just under 60,000 people were in the Swiss asylum procedure in late 2019.
  • Without the support of their volunteers, 91% of the organizations working in integration would be unable to carry out at least one of their projects.
